The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is celebrating the most successful Wine & Ale in the Park fundraiser in the event’s history after this year’s gathering raised more than $54,500 in support of local health care.
The annual event, held June 25 in Victoria Park in Cobourg, welcomed community members for an evening featuring local food pairings, wines and craft ales from Northumberland-area vendors.
Foundation Manager of Community Giving Courtney Ker thanked the sponsors, volunteers and attendees whose support made the record-breaking result possible.
“This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing people and businesses who continue to champion NHH,” Ker said. “Every ticket purchased, glass raised, and generous contribution will have a meaningful impact on strengthening healthcare close to home.”
The fundraiser was presented for the 11th consecutive year by local realtor Tony Pulla of RE/MAX Rouge River Realty Ltd. with Sydney Fairman of the Sydney Fairman Group returning as the event’s exclusive beverage sponsor. A number of local businesses also supported the event as pairing station sponsors.
Funds raised will help the hospital invest in priority medical equipment and technology, ensuring patients across Northumberland continue to have access to high-quality care close to home as demand for services continues to grow.
The Foundation says community fundraising events such as Wine & Ale play an important role in helping the hospital purchase equipment not fully funded through the provincial healthcare system.
