The Town of Cobourg is inviting residents to a free public screening of a new documentary series highlighting the people behind the Cobourg Fire Department.
In The Line Of Fire is a six part Bell Fibe TV1 docu-series that premieres July 30 on Bell Fibe TV Channel 1 and the Fibe TV app. Produced by Cobourg based Eelay Media, each episode runs about 10 minutes and features firsthand stories from firefighters and other emergency responders.
The series also explores the history of the Cobourg Fire Department and the new Canadian Fire Fighters Museum, offering viewers a closer look at the people, training and commitment behind the profession.
To mark the premiere, the Town is hosting a free public viewing on Thursday, July 30, in the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the event beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will include brief remarks followed by screenings of the first three episodes. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Executive Producer Mark Johnston of Eelay Media said the project was inspired by the personal stories of firefighters and their commitment to serving the community.
Chief Administrative Officer Tracey Vaughan said the series recognizes the professionalism and dedication of Cobourg Fire members while giving residents a better understanding of the important work they do every day.
