The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is celebrating the most successful fundraising year in its history after raising more than $7.5 million during the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The milestone was announced during the Foundation’s annual meeting on June 17, where volunteers, staff and community supporters gathered to review the organization’s accomplishments and investments in local healthcare.
Foundation CEO Rhonda Cunningham said the record-breaking year reflects the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting Northumberland Hills Hospital.
“The achievement of raising $7.5 million is far more than a number on a balance sheet,” Cunningham told attendees. “It is a testament to how deeply our community cares about its hospital and how willing people are to support its success.”
The Foundation highlighted several factors contributing to the year’s success, including strong participation in fundraising events, support for the Light Up a Life campaign, community-led fundraising initiatives and continued donor generosity.
Board Chair Carrie McArthur Low also reflected on her first year in the role, praising volunteers, Foundation staff and hospital leadership for their dedication to supporting patient care.
The annual meeting also included the presentation of audited financial statements and the election of directors for the coming year.
The Foundation recognized outgoing board members Gavin Ivory, Ian MacVicar and Dr. Kate Everdell for their years of service and contributions to the organization.
Looking ahead, Carrie McArthur Low and Denise O’Brien will continue as Chair and Vice Chair respectively, while David Dexter moves into the role of Treasurer.
Foundation officials say the record fundraising year will help support investments that advance patient care and strengthen healthcare services for residents across west Northumberland.
