Brightonians are in for a treat with the SkyHawks coming to perform next week ahead of a Northumberland County Mutual Aid meeting on June 4.
Brighton Fire and Rescue has announced the special performance is set for next Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
The public will be able to take in the Canadian Armed Forces’ parachute team’s performance at the Codrington Community Centre (2992 County Rd. 30.)
However, residents should also note that due to logistical requirements and to ensure the safety of all participants and attendees, this is the only place where parking and viewing will be permitted for the show, officials have confirmed.
The popular parachute team is known for stunning aerial displays and precision skydiving. The team performs across the nation each year.
This year’s mutual aid meeting marks a significant milestone as mutual aid is marking 75 years in Ontario, notes Brighton Fire and Rescue.
Mutual aid partnerships help save lives and mean neighbouring fire departments answer the call for help during large-scale or complex emergencies.
In nearby Quinte West, the SkyHawks are also taking over the skies over Centennial Park in Trenton the day prior (Wednesday, June 3.) According to the city, the jump is set for 6:30 p.m. but attendees are being encouraged to arrive at 6:15 p.m. near the soccer fields.
All SkyHawks’ performances are also dependent on the weather for safety reasons.
