From obedience classes and puppy boot camps to private lessons and behavioural training, My Bark Avenue Academy has spent years helping dog owners across Northumberland build stronger relationships with their pets.
Founder Catherine Hudson has more than 40 years of experience working with dogs, beginning as a teenager showing Dobermans before eventually breeding award winning Bull Terriers and launching her own obedience programs.
Today, Hudson operates My Bark Avenue Academy from her Warkworth area property, offering beginner and intermediate obedience classes along with a unique 10 day boot camp program designed to help dogs and owners develop better behaviour and communication skills.
Hudson says one of the biggest parts of her philosophy is teaching owners how to become calm, confident leaders for their pets rather than relying entirely on treats and rewards.
Over the years, Hudson has trained hundreds of dogs while also earning recognition as one of Northumberland’s top pet trainers.
She is also currently writing a new book titled Leaders Lead and Followers Follow: A Master Class in Dog Training, focused on canine behaviour and the lessons she has learned over decades of training.
