The Town of Cobourg says a temporary cooling unit will soon be installed at Victoria Hall as delays continue with the building’s permanent chiller replacement project.
In an update, the town says supply chain issues have delayed the arrival and installation of new permanent chiller units tied to the Victoria Hall cooling plant replacement.
With warmer weather approaching, municipal staff say a temporary trailer mounted chiller unit will be brought in and is expected to be operational by May 15.
The temporary unit will be located behind Victoria Hall while work on the long term cooling system continues.
The Town says fencing will be installed around the trailer area as well as near the ramp between the fire hall theatre and the maintenance building during the installation and operation period.
Residents and visitors are also being advised the temporary equipment will generate more noise than typical building operations.
The project is being coordinated through the Town of Cobourg’s Building Maintenance and Services department as part of ongoing infrastructure work at Victoria Hall.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the project is being encouraged to contact the Town of Cobourg customer service department.
