United Way Northumberland is once again inviting the community to dine out in support of food security across the county.
The organization has announced the return of Bite Back Against Hunger, a fundraising dinner taking place June 18 at Midi Bistro in downtown Cobourg.
Now in its second year, the event will feature an exclusive five course French Mediterranean tasting menu created by Chef Sassi. Proceeds from the evening will support Northumberland Eats, United Way Northumberland’s initiative focused on addressing food insecurity throughout the county.
Tickets are priced at $175 per person and include a $100 charitable tax receipt. Organizers say seating is limited and early purchase is encouraged following last year’s sold out event.
The evening will also feature the return of the popular Wine Wall raffle, where guests can purchase a cork for a chance to win bottles valued between $20 and $200.
In addition, only 100 Golden Ticket raffle entries will be available for purchase. The $100 tickets do not require attendance at the dinner, with the winning prize being a private dinner party for six at Midi Bistro.
United Way Northumberland Executive Director Alicia Vandine says food insecurity affects people across all parts of Northumberland, including seniors on fixed incomes, working families, and newcomers to the community.
She says Northumberland Eats supports local food banks, meal programs, and organizations working every day to help residents access food and support services.
United Way Northumberland says all proceeds from the fundraiser will stay local to support food security initiatives across the county.
Tickets and additional information are available through United Way Northumberland’s event page online.
