Trent Hills Pride Chairperson Emilio Ojeda
Trent Hills Pride is giving the community an early opportunity to celebrate with a Drag Bingo Extravaganza this weekend in Campbellford.
The event takes place Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Campbellford Legion and serves as a lead-in to a full schedule of Pride Month activities planned for early June.
Chairperson Emilio Ojeda says the evening is designed to be fun, inclusive and full of energy.
Ojeda says the night will include live performances, bingo games, prizes and music, along with a cash bar at the Legion venue.
The Drag Bingo event also acts as a preview of what’s ahead for Pride Month in Trent Hills.
Organizers say the June lineup will include Pride flag raisings across the municipality on June 1, as well as the return of popular events such as a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening, Storytime with Betty Baker and Butch and Pride in the Park celebrations.
Additional programming will include performances, community gatherings and opportunities to celebrate 2SLGBTQ+ identities while strengthening connections across the region.
Ojeda says more details will be released later this month, but for now, the Drag Bingo Extravaganza offers a welcoming and entertaining way for the community to come together and kick off Pride season early.
