Cobourg Police Service say several individuals are facing charges following separate incidents over the weekend, including impaired driving and mischief investigations.
Police say a 22 year old Cobourg man was arrested April 30 after officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver around 8 p.m. in the area of William Street and University Avenue. The driver was charged with impaired operation and having cannabis readily available in a vehicle.
In a separate incident, a 19 year old Cobourg man was arrested early May 2 after police observed a vehicle travelling erratically without headlights near Boulton Street and Sinclair Street around 1:40 a.m. Police say the driver, a G2 licence holder, was charged with impaired operation and issued a summons for having a blood alcohol concentration above zero.
Police also report a 40 year old Cobourg woman was arrested May 3 following a mischief investigation. Officers were called to a business on King Street East around 12:20 p.m. after a window was broken. Further investigation revealed the woman was also wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a previous incident on King Street West.
She is charged with two counts of mischief and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and was held for a bail hearing.
Cobourg Police Service continue to encourage residents to report suspected impaired driving by calling 9 1 1 and to help keep roads safe.
