Cobourg police say a 32 year old Cobourg man is facing charges following a response to a reported assault in the community.
Police say officers were called to the area of Burnham Street and Elgin Street on April 7 just after 9 pm following a report of an assault in progress.
Investigators say officers located a person of interest and witnesses at the scene.
As a result of the police response, police say the accused was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.
Police say no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
They say the accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
