Entrepreneurs in Northumberland County are getting support to grow their businesses through the province-wide Starter Company Plus program, funded by the Ontario government and delivered locally through the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland.
The program is designed to help small business owners who have been operating for at least six months take the next step, offering a combination of training, mentorship and a micro grant to support business expansion.
Business Development Coordinator Kailyn Coupland says the program is about building momentum for local entrepreneurs.
Participants receive support in areas like marketing, financial planning and operations, along with access to advisors and business training.
Coupland says one of the most valuable aspects of the program is the network it creates.
That combination helps business owners strengthen their skills while building confidence and connections within the local business community.
The program continues to show strong results in Northumberland.
Applications for the current intake are open until April 13th and must be submitted online. Entrepreneurs can learn more or apply through the program page here: Starter Company Plus program details and application.
The program is part of a broader effort to support small businesses across Ontario, helping entrepreneurs grow locally while contributing to the strength of the regional economy.
