The Battle of the Badges hockey tourney is returning to light up the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC) in April.
The Town of Cobourg has announced the charity hockey game will make its return coming on up April 4.
“Proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland, an organization that has been changing lives through the power of mentorship,” said the town.
The event, which will see the Cobourg Police Service and Cobourg Fire Department face off, will kick-start with a pre-game “interactive fan zone” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This will translate to lots of activities for families like face painting, mascots, games and more still to be announced before the actual game.
K9nine Security and New Amherst Homes have stepped up as sponsors for the pre-game festivities.
At 7 p.m., there will be a ceremonial puck drop before the “epic showdown.”
The event will be free to attend but donations will be encouraged at the door to help Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Intermission sponsors also include KISS Contracting, Canadian Tire, Moffatt Bros. Roofing Ltd., and Oxygen Yoga and Fitness Cobourg. MBC Media has also stepped up as a media sponsor.
Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on Experience Cobourg for updates as the event draws nearer.
