A 33-year-old Hamilton Township woman faces multiple charges following a joint investigation into alleged fraudulent activity at a local support services business.
The investigation, conducted by Port Hope Police Service and Cobourg Police Service, focused on Rise and Thrive Support Services after allegations surfaced in late 2025 that the business director was engaging in fraudulent activity affecting vulnerable residents of Northumberland County.
On Thursday, police searched a Dale Road home, a Division Street business, and an associated vehicle.
As a result, Cayla Jolene Snetsinger was charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000, trafficking in a Schedule I substance, obstruction of justice, forgery, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Snetsinger was held in custody pending a bail hearing. Police continue to investigate and urge anyone with additional information to contact the Cobourg or Port Hope police services.
