Lower Trent Conservation has some familiar Brighton and Cramahe faces for its new leadership.
Cramahe Coun. Sherry Hamilton is the new board chair, while Brighton Coun. Jeff Wheeldon is now vice-chair.
Both previously joined the board in 2023.
“Their strong advocacy, decision-making and support for staff and programs has made an impact on our organization, as well as across the watershed,” said Lower Trent, while announcing the changes.
Hamilton was selected through a board election process while Wheeldon was acclaimed.
Lower Trent is also thanking outgoing chair Gene Brahaney who has served on the board since 2019 and as chair for the last two years.
“Gene’s leadership has been marked by his deep respect for conservation authorities, staff and the important environmental work that LTC does. His dedication and efforts are evident throughout his time as chair and (have) helped strengthen Lower Trent Conservation for the future.
“We are sincerely grateful for his commitment and service.”
