The whales are migrating out of Trenton, says the Quinte Museum of Natural History.
The community is being encouraged to bid farewell to the flagship whale exhibit at the museum by this Family Day (Monday, Feb. 16.)
These are the final days of the headline exhibit entitled: “Diving Deep: A Tale of Whales Through Time,” which offers visitors a chance to explore an “immersive evolutionary journey through whale history.”
To mark the occasion, the museum is also planning a Family Day farewell event with admission by donation, which will be in celebration of the whales that have captivated thousands of visitors since the exhibit’s debut, the museum has announced.
“This family-friendly day will offer one last chance to dive deep, while also looking ahead to what’s next,” said the museum.
Leading up to Family Day, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
After Family Day, the museum will be closed to the public as the exhibit has to be uninstalled, and galleries prepared for a new chapter.
In March, the museum will launch its next major exhibit: “Expedition Alert: Stories from the High Arctic,” which organizers said will take visitors to travel to Alert, Nunavut, the nation’s northernmost community.
More information about visiting hours and tickets for the final days of the whale exhibit is accessible online.
