Details are still scarce after a raid in the Division Street and Swayne Street Cobourg area this morning, but the scene has been cleared, say police.
Early on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 12, the Cobourg Police Service issued a brief release advising the public of a “heavy police presence” in the Division and Swayne streets area as police executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an area residence.
“There will be a heavy police presence and officers will be in the area for several hours completing the investigation,” said the service, in its release issued just after 6 a.m. “An update will be provided when officers are cleared of the scene,” read the release.
In a 9:30 a.m. Facebook post from the service, the service said the scene has been cleared, and an update will be provided when more information becomes available.
