VOS Theatre has announced the cast for its upcoming spring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition, with performances set to begin April 24 at Victoria Hall in Cobourg.
The production stars Jessica MacNeill in the title role of Cinderella, marking her first time performing with VOS Theatre. Roanna Kitchen will take on the role of Fairy Godmother, the Stepmother will be played by Colleen Lewis with Lorol Avery and Monique Soleil as the Stepsisters Grace and Joy and Josh Lambert will be the glass slipper-toting Prince Christopher.
MacNeill tells us that rehearsals are already well underway, and says the experience has been both exciting and rewarding.
Audiences can expect a version of Cinderella that blends classic storytelling with a modern feel. MacNeill says this adaptation closely mirrors the popular 1997 television movie that introduced the fairy tale to a new generation.
MacNeill adds that taking on such an iconic role has been both a challenge and a joy, as she works to honour audience expectations while creating her own interpretation of the character.
Beyond the music and magic, MacNeill says the show reflects the values that make community theatre special. She describes VOS as a close-knit organization dedicated not only to performance, but to supporting local artists and young people.
Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition runs from April 24 to May 3, 2026, with evening and matinee performances at Victoria Hall.
Tickets are available through the VOS Theatre website and the Victoria Hall box office.
