Health and safety authorities are notifying consumers about a voluntary recall of Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits sold in Canada due to the possible presence of soft plastic and paper pieces in the product.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) lists the recall as a food safety warning affecting three specific batches of Gerber brand Arrowroot Biscuits in the 155-gram size. The affected products were distributed nationally and at online retailers.
Consumers are urged not to feed, use, sell or serve the recalled biscuits to children. Instead, the CFIA advises that the products be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase for disposal or a refund.
The recall was triggered after concerns were raised over potential foreign material in the arrowroot flour used in production. Gerber and its supplier have taken the precautionary step of removing the affected batches from the market. No other Gerber products are included in this recall, and there have been no reported illnesses or injuries linked to the recalled biscuits at this time.
Customers who believe they have purchased an affected package should check the 10-digit batch code on the back of the product and confirm it against the recall list. For product questions or reimbursement details, consumers are encouraged to contact the company’s support lines or return the item to the retailer.
Staying informed about food recalls can help protect the health and safety of infants and young children.
