It’s been a busy day for first-responders as snow squalls wreaked havoc across Northumberland and Cobourg has been no exception.
Earlier today – Tuesday, Jan. 27 – Cobourg Police Service officers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the Elgin and William Street area, then another two-vehicle wreck in the DePalma Drive and Burnham area and again a two-vehicle collision in the Elgin Street and Division Street area.
In all of these unrelated collisions, there were no injuries reported, a CPS spokesperson told MBC.
However, CPS is continuing to call on motorists to exercise caution as weather and road conditions evolve.
“We are reminding residents to use caution, drive slowly, leave extra space for stopping and stay alert,” said CPS. “Even when roads have been cleared and salted/sanded, icy conditions can still persist.
“We ask drivers to continue exercising caution as weather and road conditions evolve.”
In whiteout and snowstorm conditions, motorists are also reminded to turn on their full headlight system.
