YMCA Northumberland is inviting families across the region to its annual Community Pancake Breakfast, a free holiday event taking place Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Cobourg YMCA.
The long-running tradition brings families together for pancakes, activities and a visit from Santa, with no membership required to attend.
Team lead for child and youth programs Taylor Brooks-Cossitt has been helping coordinate the event for three years and says seeing the reaction from children makes all the preparation worthwhile.
Admission to the breakfast is free, and the YMCA will be accepting voluntary donations for the Fare Share Food Bank. Brooks-Cossitt says the event reflects the Y’s commitment to community support.
The morning will also include a wide range of games and activities designed for every age group. Families can take part in Reindeer Ring Toss, Pin the Nose on Rudolph, face painting, preschool play stations and more. Ruby and Rudy the Reindeers will also be on hand for photos.
Santa will visit from 10 to 11 a.m. and will be available for photos with families.
