The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged two individuals after recovering a stolen pick-up truck in Trent Hills.
On December 9, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., police say they received a report that a pick-up truck had been stolen from an address in North Frontenac and was believed to be heading toward the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Officers on patrol located a vehicle matching the description in a ditch on 11th Line in Trent Hills in the early hours of December 10. A passenger had walked away from the vehicle before being arrested at the scene. The driver fled toward a nearby wooded area but was later located and taken into custody.
Tyson Gordon, 36, from the Municipality of Marmora and Lake, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation, failure to comply with a probation order, two counts of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, and driving while under suspension. He was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Michelle Hughey, 42, from the Municipality of Trent Hills, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in January 2026.
