A drug-trafficking probe in Cobourg has led to an arrest.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, members of the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) and Port Hope Police Service (PHPS) conducted a traffic stop near County Road 45 and Dunbar Road as part of an ongoing investigation into drug-trafficking in Cobourg and the surrounding areas, said police.
Police said three occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident.
Following the stop, CPS, PHPS and the Belleville Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on University Avenue East in Cobourg. Officers said they seized about 31 grams of cocaine, which is estimated to have a street value of $3,700, about $1,100 in Canadian currency believed to be obtained through criminal activity, multiple cellphones and other items linked to drug-trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 34-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance – cocaine – and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The other two occupants of the vehicle were released unconditionally. Police said the investigation remains ongoing and continue to encourage anyone with information about drug activity in the area to come forward.
