Cobourg police say a local man is facing drug-related charges after being arrested for breaching the conditions of a release order.
On Oct. 28, 2025, at about 7 p.m., officers on routine patrol in downtown Cobourg observed a man wanted for violating his release conditions, reported police.
The accused was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, police allege they found about 15.64 grams of suspected fentanyl, 5.5 grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of cash.
Police said the amount of fentanyl seized is equivalent to roughly 1,564 potential lethal doses, with the estimated total street value of all drugs at $2,100.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 34-year-old was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as possession of proceeds of crime under the Criminal Code.
