Cobourg baseball fans will have a place to cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays together as the Town hosts two free World Series watch parties at the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC).
The events will take place in the CCC’s Bowl Arena, where Games 5 and 6 will be streamed live on the Stevenson Building Products Scoreclock. Game 5 is set for Wednesday, October 29, with Game 6 scheduled for Friday, October 31, if necessary. Both games start at 8 p.m., and doors will open 30 minutes before first pitch.
Mayor Lucas Cleveland says the viewing parties are meant to bring the community together and celebrate a shared sense of pride. “These events are all about community spirit and celebrating together,” Cleveland said. “We’ve seen how much connection these gatherings bring, and we’re thrilled to bring that excitement to Cobourg.”
Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the canteen, and fans are encouraged to wear their Blue Jays gear and show their team pride.
The watch parties follow a similar event in Port Hope hosted by Queenie’s Bake Shop earlier in the playoffs, which drew large, enthusiastic crowds of Jays supporters.
