The Cobourg Police Service made multiple arrests over the weekend related to outstanding warrants and probation breaches, say police.
On Oct. 17, police on general patrol arrested a 24-year-old Cobourg man wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation. Police say the man has been arrested 20 times with 21 criminal charges and has had 252 interactions with officers over the past year.
Later that evening, officers conducting a property check on Covert Street arrested a 42-year-old Cobourg woman wanted on outstanding warrants. She was charged with public intoxication, three counts of failing to comply with probation and failing to attend court, report police.
The following day, officers arrested a 33-year-old Cobourg man on King Street East, charging him with uttering threats, three counts of failing to comply with probation and failing to attend court. Police say he has been arrested 17 times since last October.
Shortly after midnight on Oct. 19, police arrested a 38-year-old Brighton man for breaching probation and allegedly found suspected fentanyl. He faces multiple drug and compliance-related charges.
Later that day, a 34-year-old Cobourg man was also arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a purse from a Division Street business.
