The earliest that a precautionary boil-water advisory could be lifted for residents in the Pebble Beach Cobourg neighbourhood area is Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025.
However, timing continues to be dependent on bacterial testing results.
“The water main connection has been completed, and we are waiting for the results of the bacterial testing,” a Town of Cobourg spokesperson told MBC in an update on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025. “We anticipate the earliest the boil water advisory could be lifted would be Thursday; however, this is contingent on the results of the testing.
“Further information could be provided by Lakefront Utilities,” added the spokesperson.
As previously reported, the town issued a release informing residents of the precautionary boil-water advisory on Tuesday, while also saying Lakefront Utilities staff were going door-to-door hand-delivering notices to affected homes at that time.
Officials said the advisory was issued due to water main connection work taking place and warned bacterial testing results would take a minimum of 24 hours from the time of testing.
Notices were reportedly delivered to homes in the Pebble Beach Drive, Glen Watford Road, Ravensdale Road, Cedar Lea Lane, Tracy Road and King Street West (about 0.6 km west of Burnham Street) areas.
Officials have also provided guidance for impacted residents and said that Lakefront Utilities and the town would issue a notice when the advisory has been lifted.
