Correctional Service Canada is crediting staff for their vigilance again after the seizure of contraband and unauthorized items at Warkworth Institution.
The latest seizure – on Sept. 14, 2025 – again followed a suspected drone drop, according to officials.
The alleged seized items included tobacco, marijuana and “shatter,” which is also known as cannabis concentrate.
The total estimated institutional value of the seized items is about $67,865, reported the Correctional Service of Canada.
Meanwhile, officials continue to reiterate that heightened measures remain in place and several tools continue to be used to prevent contraband and drugs from entering institutions – like ion scanners and detector dogs.
