The Cobourg Police Service has charged a 54-year-old resident following a child pornography investigation.
Detective Sergeant Rich Ferguson says members of the Criminal Investigations Branch arrested the man on September 5 after commencing an investigation into allegations involving child pornography and voyeurism.
The accused has been charged with possession of child pornography and four counts of voyeurism. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October 2025.
Police say the man’s name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victims connected to the case.
The Cobourg Police Service is reminding the public that cases of this nature are taken very seriously. Investigators say community awareness and reporting play a critical role in addressing child exploitation and supporting victims.
Anyone with information that could assist in the ongoing investigation is encouraged to contact Cobourg Police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
