The Municipality of Port Hope has released an update on the pump track project underway at the Town Park Recreation Centre.
After gathering input from the community earlier this year, the project team made modifications to the original design. The updated design is available on the Engage Port Hope website.
Several construction activities are either complete or scheduled. The basketball net has been removed and the shade shelter relocated. Starting the week of September 2, crews will remove asphalt, install a drainage culvert, and place construction fencing.
A construction pause will take place from September 8 to 14 during the Port Hope Fall Fair. Work will resume in mid-September, with paving of the pump track scheduled for early October. Final landscaping, seating, and signage are expected to be finished by November 1.
During construction, the two parking spaces closest to the bins will be used for staging. Municipal officials advise there may be temporary impacts to the east side of the parking lot, and bins will be relocated temporarily.
The pump track project is supported through funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
