The Ontario Provincial Police, working with the Peterborough Police Service, say four individuals are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation that began in July.
Police say the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit began investigating individuals believed to be involved in the distribution of controlled substances earlier this summer.
On August 26, officers arrested two people in Englehart. During that arrest, police say approximately 125 grams of suspected cocaine was seized.
As part of the investigation, search warrants were carried out at locations in North Kawartha Township, Otonabee-South Monaghan, and the Township of Selwyn.
According to investigators, the searches resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, approximately 1.8 kilograms of suspected marijuana, additional cannabis products, cell phones, transaction records, several firearms, and handgun ammunition.
In total, four people from Peterborough County now face a variety of charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, distribution of cannabis, possession of prohibited devices or ammunition, and several firearms-related offences.
Police say some of the accused were held for bail hearings while others are scheduled to appear in court this fall.
The OPP are asking anyone with information about this case or other criminal activity to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
