Police say an 18-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges of assault with a weapon after a dispute between neighbours escalated early Monday morning.
Police say officers responded around 2:20 a.m. on August 25, 2025, to a reported fight in the area of Alexandria Drive and D’Arcy Street. During the altercation, one neighbour confronted the other with a hatchet. The weapon was seized at the scene, and police launched an investigation.
The accused was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. He has since been released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
