A 65-year-old Roseneath woman is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop in Cobourg Sunday night.
Cobourg police say that on August 11, 2025, just after 10 p.m., officers were patrolling Division Street when they observed a vehicle weaving within its lane and striking the curb several times.
Police conducted a traffic stop and began an investigation. As a result, the driver was arrested and charged with two offences – Operation While Impaired and Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus).
Under Ontario law, drivers charged with these offences face immediate administrative penalties. Police say the woman’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. Her vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
No further details about the accused were released.
