Cobourg Police say a 36-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a shoplifting report at a King Street West business.
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were called after a woman allegedly entered the store, selected merchandise, and left without paying.
Following an investigation, police arrested the woman on Friday, August 8. She is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation.
Police say the accused was held for a bail hearing.
Police continue to encourage local businesses to report incidents of theft promptly and to share any security footage that could assist in investigations.
