
A 42-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after an alleged theft report involving about $10,000 worth of tools.
The Cobourg Police Service said police launched an investigation on July 23, 2025, following a break-and-enter report in the Orr and Durham streets area between July 20 and 23.
The complainant reported that an unknown person smashed a window to gain access to a residence and about $10,000 worth of tools was allegedly stolen, said police.
On July 24, police said a man in the Division Street was allegedly found with some of the stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 42-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
