Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is celebrating a record-breaking start to the summer. The annual Wine & Ale in the Park event, held June 26, raised more than $42,000, marking the highest total in the fundraiser’s history.
“This event is a true reflection of our community’s generosity,” said Courtney Ker, Events Specialist for the Foundation. “We’re incredibly grateful for our sponsors, vendors, and every person who came out to support local health care.”
The evening featured food and beverages from 11 local vendors, both returning favourites and new participants. The Lions Club of Cobourg once again donated the use of their tent and volunteered their time throughout the evening to help with setup, cleanup, and serving beverages.
A special moment during the event saw longtime supporter Tony Pulla recognized with a “Doctor of Philanthropy” honour. Pulla has served as the event’s Signature Sponsor for 10 years and has supported the hospital foundation for more than two decades.
Foundation CEO Rhonda Cunningham said the event reflects the strength of community partnerships. “We’re so proud to be part of a community that continually shows up for our hospital,” she said.
Funds raised from Wine & Ale in the Park will help the Foundation purchase medical equipment and technology to support the hospital’s growing patient needs.
Other major sponsors included the Sydney Fairman Group, Elliott Insurance, Quantrill Auto, Nikolovsky Wealth Management, and others.
