A 21-year-old Cobourg man is facing robbery, assault and weapon-related charges after an alleged incident involving a “rolling pin” and knife in the north end of town, say police.
The Cobourg Police Service said their investigation started after a disturbance call on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at about 5:30 p.m., when police took a report about a serious assault that allegedly occurred at a residence near Trevor Street and Trailsview Avenue.
Police were reportedly told that a man allegedly assaulted a victim with a rolling pin while attempting to take money from the victim.
A group of individuals tried to help the victim when the man allegedly threatened three others while brandishing a kitchen knife, said police, on Thursday, July 10, in a release.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 21-year-old Cobourg man was charged with robbery with violence, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
