Northumberland County is advising drivers and pedestrians of planned nighttime maintenance on the Campbellford Bridge next week.
The work is scheduled to take place overnight on Tuesday, June 24, and Wednesday, June 25. Crews will be on-site each evening from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
The bridge will remain open during the work, with alternating lane closures in place. Paid duty officers will be stationed at both ends of the bridge to manage traffic flow, ensuring safety for all road users. One sidewalk will remain open at all times for pedestrian access.
County officials say the repairs will involve concrete scaling and minor surface work to address delaminated areas and help extend the life of the structure, which crosses the Trent River as part of the Trent-Severn Waterway.
“The Campbellford Bridge is a vital single crossing within the community,” said Denise Marshall, Director of Public Works. “By completing this work overnight, we aim to minimize disruptions and maintain daily access for those who rely on this structure.”
Emergency access will be maintained throughout the repairs.
“Proactive maintenance like this helps us efficiently extend the life of our infrastructure,” Marshall added. “We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these necessary repairs.”
