
A 41-year-old Cobourg man is facing drug trafficking charges after police say he was found with controlled substances and paraphernalia in plain view on a downtown sidewalk.
Cobourg Police say the incident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the area of King Street East and McGill Street. An officer on foot patrol spotted a man sitting on a curb with drugs and drug-related items visible on the ground in front of him.
The man was arrested, and police conducted a search that turned up approximately 10.26 grams of fentanyl, 15.84 grams of cocaine, and 22.89 grams of crack cocaine. The estimated street value of the drugs is $12,000.
Police also seized a quantity of cash, a weigh scale, several knives, and contraband unmarked cigarettes.
The Cobourg man is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and possession of unmarked tobacco under the Tobacco Tax Act.
He was held for a Show Cause Hearing and was later remanded into custody.
