The Municipality of Port Hope says Christmas trees can be disposed of this year from Jan. 2 to 10.
In the urban area, residents are asked to place bare trees at the curbside on or before Monday, Jan. 8. (This means all nails, bases, ornaments, lights, decorations, et cetera, are removed.)
Those living in the Williamsport Condo Corp. area can bring trees to Strachan Street for pickup.
Staff note that unfavourable weather conditions may influence pickup.
In the rural area, bare trees can be taken to the Transfer Station on 5th Line – however, residents are asked to take note of the holiday schedule.
Trees should be placed below the bins on the west side of the lot.
Residents with questions can contact works and engineering via email or by calling 905-885-8760.
