If you happen to be at or close by the Port Hope Agricultural Park, you’ll have the chance to witness a flyby by a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CC-130J Hercules.
Scheduled for around 12:00 p.m., the aircraft will soar over the Port Hope Agricultural Park which is hosting the 60th Northumberland Scottish Festival and Highland Games on Friday and Saturday.
The flyby will take place at a minimum altitude of 500 feet above the highest obstacle on its route.
The CC-130J Hercules is renowned for its roles in personnel transport, search-and-rescue missions, tactical airlift, and aircrew training.
According to a release from 8 Wing Trenton, this carefully planned and controlled flyby promises to add an exciting element to the beginning of the festival, showcasing the capabilities of the RCAF.
Note that flybys are dependent on weather conditions and are conducted with strict adherence to public safety guidelines.
