Consultations are ongoing to gather feedback on updated maps and policies for Northumberland’s long-term growth, says the county.
An additional in-person open house will be held in Port Hope on June 13, 2024.
About the growth management amendment to county official plan:
Part of Northumberland Next, this amendment guides growth and development over the next 30 years. With a projected population of 122,000 by 2051, the amendment will help plan new development, including expansions in Port Hope, Grafton, and Codrington.
About the consultation process:
The draft amendment was presented in 2021 and has since undergone several rounds of feedback, says the county.
Updated maps and reports are now available for review. Upcoming consultation sessions include a hybrid public meeting on June 5 and an in-person open house on June 13. Feedback can also be submitted online until July 12, 2024.
