Police say a common tactic used by criminals to steal valuables is to distract you.
Thieves divert victims’ attention in crowded places, like shopping centers, while stealing wallets or belongings.
To stay safe, stay alert in public areas, never leave items unattended, and carry only necessary items.
Report suspicious activity to Police immediately.
