A delegate from the Ministry of Transportation has made a presentation to Brighton council to update the municipality on an extensive bridge rehabilitation project on Highway 401.
Mayor Brian Ostrander says the project is still several years out but it will be a big deal and will take years to complete.
Ostrander says he’s even looking a re-submitting a previous request that was made through County Council, to move the 401 Emergency Detour so it doesn’t funnel traffic through downtown Brighton.
Ostrander says given the 401 project will have a major impact on traffic and access to downtown Brighton, maybe the town and the county can get provincial for re-directing the Emergency Detour Route.
