The new specialized transit service will soon hit the road in Port Hope with expanded coverage to include rural areas.
The service is in partnership with Community Care Northumberland (CCN) and provides door to door transit to registered and eligible users with accessibility-related needs.
Council will data collected during the pilot to decide whether or not to make the programs expansion to rural areas permanent.
The Rural ROLLS program will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm.
CCN currently operates services on Thursdays and Fridays which are subsidized by the Municipality.
