The Town of Cobourg will be getting an unsanctioned overdose prevention site in the coming days.
According to local news blog Consider This, a group of activists and community volunteers will be setting up a place where addicts can take illegal drugs safely and under supervision of volunteer medical personnel.
The project is reportedly called Tweak Easy, and will move to different locations every week.
Missy McLean, one of the organizers, says this is an act of resistance that will challenge local politicians, police, and opposed citizens.
This story is still developing, and we’ll follow it as we learn more.
