Northumberland Hills Hospital has reported an Enteric outbreak.
The outbreak is affecting a cluster of patients and staff on the Restorative Care unit who have reported symptoms of a gastrointestinal infection.
Visitor restrictions have been placed on the unit and new admissions to Restorative Care have been paused, but all other areas of the hospital are unaffected.
Hospital staff are monitoring the situation with NHH’s infection prevention and control team and contact precautions are in place like use of PPE, changes to communal dining and enhanced cleaning and hand hygiene practices.
Family and loved ones of affected patients have been notified and public notices have been placed on all appropriate hospital entrances.
Updates will be provided as new information is available.
