Northumberland Hills Hospital will fly the Black Lives Matter Flag for all of February.
It’s a first for NHH – on the recommendation of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, the hospital will fly the Black Lives Matter Flag during February to celebrate Black History Month.
It’s one of several activities planned this month to advance conversation, awareness and understanding about systemic racism and it’s impact.
Other activities include written materials, lunch and learns, a speaker-led talk by Dr. Roberta Timothy and training opportunities.
President and CEO Susan Walsh said “Flying the Black Lives Matter flag is one of many small steps that NHH is taking to reinforce the point that, like many organizations, we still have work to do before we can say we are truly equitable and
inclusive.”
