Visitation to the Inpatient unit at Campbellford Memorial Hospital has been restricted except for patients in hospital for end of life care.
The change in policy came after a COVID-19 outbreak in the unit was declared by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit on Wednesday.
Virtual visitation is still available and encouraged, and family members can reach out to Caitlyn Payne at 705-653-1140 ext. 2212 to set up a virtual visit.
The Endoscopy Suite will also be closed until further notice due to the impact of the outbreak on staffing levels. Services in the Emergency Department remain unaffected at this time and community members in need of emergency care should not hesitate to seek assistance.
Officials also say patients and visitors must wear a mask at all times within the hospital and visitors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
