Located at 67 Queen Street, this waterfront building now houses the new Dockside Bistro, owned and operated by Sandy and Sarah Sanyal.
In 2019, and wanting to make a move from urban life, Sarah and Sandy started their search for a rural property in the Buckhorn area. Not finding anything suitable, they expanded their search from the Peterborough County area into the Trent Hills area, purchasing the location on Queen Street in 2020.
“We wanted a historical, waterfront property,” said Sarah. “The former Baptist Church Street at 67 Queen Street in Campbellford was available and it was perfect, with unique history right on the Trent Severn Waterway.”
Sarah and Sandy have many years in the food business. They previously owned a catering business along with a gourmet food basket gift company.
“We love making food. We love making people happy. We love what we do, and we’re thrilled to be doing it in Campbellford,” added Sarah. “Many years ago, we successfully ran our own restaurant in Pickering, Ontario. From there, we opened a corporate catering business in Toronto, which we ran for over fifteen years — until late 2019.”
The Dockside Bistro is unique, and allows patrons to enjoy a waterfront view and patios spaces along the Trent Severn.
Sarah tells us their menu is diverse.
