Today the provinces Covid-19 numbers were released and Ontario reported less than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases for the first time in more than a month.There were 25 covid related deaths of the 25 deaths reported nine involved residents of the long-term care system.
Overall Ontario had 2791 new confirmed cases while here in Northumberland we have had 5 new cases; with Kawartha Lakes having 2 and Haliburton with zero cases.
While the Covid-19 numbers come in across the province Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has stated that Canada is supposed to get up to 36 million doses of the mRNA vaccines in the next two months. 24.2 million Pfizer and between 10 million and 12 million from Moderna. Trudeau said Moderna’s next shipment of one million doses is now arriving here in Canada Wednesday, a week ahead of schedule.
It is expected that Canada will get 92 million doses of Pfizer and Moderna by the end of September, almost 20 million more than it needs to giveĀ to every Canadian.
